surfing the net

I am having some major problems surfing the net. I have not done anything new lately. I try to access my email or look on the net and it does not let me. It always goes to incredifind.com which is not even my home page. What do I need to do? I have disk fragmented, etc. I tried to post a message earlier and it said unable to find and went to incredifind. help - please

..sounds like you have a hi jacking problem. You should search your machine for spyware and get rid of it if you find any. If you don't have the software to do this I believe "Spy-Bot" is a popular one. Just go to CNET.com and look under downloads for a free spyware program. Or, go over to the Windows XP board and look for a post by ChrisRLG; he has a lot of info concerning spyware.

A small utility for removing CoolWebSearch (aka CoolWwwSearch, YouFindAll, White-Pages.ws and a dozen other names). Spybot S&D tends to forget essential parts of the hijack, so until it updates, you can just this to completely remove the hijack. Updated to remove the new variants once they come out.
